Woodwind and Brass auditions for the 2026 HUSKY MARCHING BAND are now open! All woodwind and brass auditions for the 2026 Husky Band will be submitted online. Please review the materials below before you record and submit your audition.

If you would like to audition for the Husky Drumline, more information can be found HERE. Drumline auditions will be held in person on Sunday, June 7th from 9am-5pm.

Auditions are now open!

All wind players should follow the following process for submitting their auditions:

  1. Read through ALL of the audition steps and requirements

  2. Prepare the audition materials. Each instrument's audition packet can be downloaded below.

  3. Find a quiet space to record your audition. Each PART of the audition must be done in a single "take", but you can splice each take together to submit one video.

  4. Upload your audition video to YouTube as an UNLISTED video. OR. Upload your video to cloud storage (such as Google Drive).

  5. Fill out the 2026 HMB WIND AUDITION FORM.

  6. Copy your video link to the bottom of the audition form. Make sure that permissions on the link allow "Anyone with the Link" to view your audition footage.

  7. Hit SUBMIT! You're done! You'll hear back mid-June as to your audition status.

Auditions are DUE no later than Sunday, June 7th, 2026 by 11:59pm PT.

There should be FOUR parts to your HMB Audition Video:

All four parts should be recorded and uploaded in a single unlisted YouTube video. We prefer unlisted videos because it only allows those with the link to open the video. Public videos can be accessed by anyone and everyone. Each of the individual parts of your audition MUST be done in a single take, with your torso and instrument in full view. Each of the parts may be spliced together to create a single video (but each individual part of your audition must be done in a single take). If you can’t upload the video to YouTube, you can upload the video to a cloud, such as Google Drive or Dropbox, and submit a link on the Audition Submission Form (if you do this, make sure the file is marked as “Visible to Anyone with Link”).

If you live near the Seattle area and need an instrument to audition on, please reach out to our Director, Dr. Jahlas, to request an instrument check out of auditions. Instrument check-outs are done on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are auditioning for piccolo and don't have one, flute is acceptable, but we do prefer auditions to be on piccolo. This is also true for mellophones and sousaphones - horns and concert tubas are acceptable, but auditions on the marching instruments are preferred.
