Jaimia Plancich – Undergraduate Assistant
Jaimia is from Lake Forest Park, Washington and is entering her fifth year in the band and second year as the Undergraduate Assistant. After three years as a member of the Saxophone Section, she is excited to be returning to Student Staff for the 2020-21 season. Jaimia is also the Parliamentarian for the Gamma Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, the National Honorary Band Fraternity, at the University of Washington. In her free time, Jaimia likes to listen to music, dance, and hang out with her friends. Panda Standridge – Staff Assistant
Panda Standridge is from Seattle, WA and is entering her 4th year with the Husky Marching Band. Panda is originally from the Sousaphone section, but is excited to start her new leadership position. Panda is pursuing two degrees, one in Theatrical Performance and one in Composition of Music for Film, Television, and Video Game Scores. In her free time, she performs stunt work as a pirate and superhero with her stage combat/improv group at renaissance fairs and conventions across the west coast. She’s excited to see what the new season brings!
Noelle Tyau – Staff Assistant
Noelle Tyau is from Seattle, Washington and is entering her fourth year at the University of Washington as an Education major. This will be her second year on student staff and third year with Husky Band. She is a proud member of the Husky Saxes and the Vice President of Membership for the Gamma chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, the National Honorary Band Fraternity. Outside of band and school, Noelle likes to enjoy the simple things in life: an ice cream in the park, petting cats around the neighborhood, and a classic Bow tag. She is looking forward to this upcoming season with Husky Band!
Hannah Ogden – Uniform Manager
Hannah is entering her third year at UW and is from Sammamish, WA. She is majoring in Music Education and in her free time enjoys knitting and hiking in the rain. Her favorite memory from HMB was traveling to Ireland last summer and playing through the streets of Killarney during a parade on the Fourth of July. Hannah is looking forward to seeing everyone again, meeting the new Rookie class, and playing Africano during Fifth Quarter.
Nick Franks – Music Librarian
Nick is from Camarillo, CA, and is returning for his third year in the Husky Band. He is a proud member of the Husky Saxes, and this is his first year on student staff. He also currently serves as the President of the Gamma Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Service Fraternity. He is a junior in the music education major in the UW School of Music and a member of the UW Symphonic Band on alto saxophone. He enjoys writing, arranging, and recording music for himself and others during his free time, and he is looking forward to working with a hard-working and dedicated student staff this season!
Elizabeth Stanton – Attendance Officer
Elizabeth Stanton is a fourth year student from Lake Stevens, Washington. She is a proud member of the Husky Mellophone section and studied History, Swedish, and Political Science at UW. Her favorite pep tune is Johnny Q, and her favorite HMB memories are marching through Disneyland at the Rose Bowl and screaming her head off for the women’s basketball team at their incredible Pac-12 tournament upset in Las Vegas. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys baking and traveling (when it is safe to do so). She is very excited to reunite with her band family and take on another amazing year of Husky Band!
Denali Cornwell – Drum Major
Denali is from Seattle, Washington, and will be entering his fifth year attending the University of Washington. He is majoring in Computer Science and Software Engineering, with a minor in Business Administration. This will also be his fifth year as a member of Husky Band, and third year serving as a drum major after two years playing snare drum in the Husky Drumline. Denali is also involved with teaching and mentoring drum majors and student leaders in high school music programs around the Puget Sound region. In his free time, he likes to learn about and build or modify high performance cars, as well as advance his education and learn all that he can about computer science.
Alex Aanesen – Drum Major
Alexander “Norway” Aanesen is entering his fourth year in band and school at the University of Washington, serving his second year as drum major. He is currently working towards a double-degree in communications and music, and was an avid trumpet player before his term as drum major. Alexander is an international student from Norway, and after an exchange year at South Kitsap High School, WA, graduated from Bergen Private Academy with a high school diploma in music. In his free time, he enjoys running, drinking coffee and rewatching old Husky games.
Evan Deiparine – Drum Major
Evan is from Shoreline, Washington, and is a fourth year student studying Computer Science, with a minor in music. He has been a part of the Mellophone section for 2 years, and this will be his second year serving as Drum Major. His favorite marching band memory is marching in the Rose Bowl parade. In his free time, you can catch Evan practicing more Computer Science and more music. Evan is pumped for the Jimmy Lake era! Go Dawgs!
JaZee Griffith – Feature Twirler
JaZee Griffith is from Pasco, Washington and is our Feature Twirler. She is entering her third year at the University of Washington. JaZee plans to pursue a degree in Visual Communication Design. JaZee’s favorite memory with the Husky Band is marching in the Rose Parade. In her free time, you can find JaZee practicing baton, volunteering with her sorority, and sewing outfits. JaZee is excited to continue performing with the Husky Band, and she looks forward to the upcoming band season. Go Huskies!
